I recently purchased two courses from people I follow on Twitter.
- Doing Content Right by Steph Smith
- Secret Sauce: The Ultimate Growth Hacking Guide by Austin Allred and Vin Clancy
Both were excellent. I recommend either of them if you’re interested in learning about (1) content creation or (2) digital marketing. But better yet was the platform I used to buy and download the material.
Gumroad is an online marketplace for creators. It simplifies the transaction between artists and their audience.
Gumroad joins a cohort of similar e-commerce platforms. I’m thinking of places like Upwork, Etsy, Kickstarter, Patreon and Udemy. Each platform exists to connect a unique group of buyers and sellers online.
Thanks to these internet marketplaces, it’s never been easier to profit off your ideas. The formula is straightforward. Identify a real problem, build a solution, and then give people a link to where they can go buy it.
I was thrilled with my recent Gumroad experience. I paid a fair price for two great products, and supported individuals that I admire in the process. Wins all around.
This leads me to believe we’re on the brink of a paid content revolution. One that will incentivize even better digital products and inspire new ways of doing business.
